The INS-BD is a natural stone insulator made from carefully selected black diamond (hematite), prized for its metallic black luster and exceptional physical properties. With a Mohs hardness of 6 and a specific gravity of 5, this trigonal crystal structure (Fe₂O₃) offers both high strength and high density.
After examining over 70 types of natural stone, Oyaide selected black diamond for its clear, straight tonal character—full of core power yet free of peaks or dips. The result is a monitor-like presentation ideal for high-fidelity playback systems.
Each insulator is precision-cut and mirror-polished by a domestic jeweler. The coin-sized design is easy to handle and can be used alone or inserted into the multi-base INS-BS for further tuning. Four pieces per set.
