The phono cable carries the smallest signal in your system, a few millivolts fresh off the stylus, and it travels through an environment full of noise sources. The SCX-5000 was engineered around that problem from conductor to plug. The conductor is PC-Triple C, forged copper where the crystal boundaries are aligned along the signal path by tens of thousands of fixed angle strikes, then annealed into a continuous structure. Low distortion, high conductivity, stable characteristics. SAEC is the company that brought this conductor to audio, so they know what to do with it.The construction around it is where the noise fight happens. Five cores of 0.48sq PC-Triple C, each insulated in FEP fluoropolymer, the lowest dielectric constant resin available. Between the cores sits natural silk thread, flexible, elastic, and naturally resistant to static charge. Shielding is triple: separate braided shields for each channel, then copper foil and braid over the whole assembly. The outer sheath is flame resistant polyethylene with a damping agent mixed in, so the cable absorbs vibration instead of passing it to the signal. Diameter is 11mm.
Termination options cover every real world setup: straight DIN or right angle DIN to RCA or XLR, RCA to RCA, and XLR to XLR for balanced phono stages.
The XLR ends get Neutrik gold plated plugs, RCA ends get SAEC's own gold plated plugs. Length is 1.3m, the right reach from arm to phono stage.
