Coaxial S/PDIF sends the signal electrically over a 75-ohm cable, while Toslink sends it as light through a fibre. Coaxial generally supports higher resolutions and avoids the optical conversion at both ends, and most audiophiles prefer it where both options exist.

Not with a cable alone, because the signal changes from light to electricity. You need a small optical-to-coaxial converter or a DAC with a Toslink input. Once converted, any of our coaxial cables will carry it correctly.

Yes. Impedance accuracy and shielding influence jitter and error rates, and unnecessarily long runs give interference more opportunity. Choose a correctly specified cable in the shortest practical length for your rack.

Check the sockets on both components. RCA-shaped coaxial sockets mean S/PDIF, a round locking BNC socket means 75-ohm BNC, and a three-pin XLR digital socket means AES/EBU. Send us a photo of the back panel if you would like confirmation.
