KRYSTAL is the wire that made Audio Mijinko's name. The small Akihabara workshop has become a destination for Japanese audiophiles, profiled by Phile-web as an "otaku holy ground", and this is their signature cable.
The construction is the storyMost interconnect wire gives you two cores and one shield. KRYSTAL gives you four cores and three shields. Each of the four conductors is 0.3sq silver plated soft copper, 0.7mm diameter, insulated in FEP fluoropolymer, the lowest dielectric constant resin available. The cores are twisted in pairs, and each pair gets its own silver plated copper braided shield. Then the two shielded pairs are twisted together into a quad.What this buys you: the hot and return runs are separated by real shielding at every point along the cable, not just wrapped together in a single screen. Crosstalk and noise pickup drop accordingly. Add PE and non-woven paper filler, a blue PVC outer, and the finished diameter is 4.8mm, slim enough to route anywhere.
The soundMijinko describes the character as image focused: sharp, clearly defined outlines with delicate nuance. The silver plated conductor, shield and plugs work together for a crisp, clear tone with real treble fineness and that fine grained texture silver plating is known for. They recommend it for fusion and acoustic music, where the texture of real instruments and the air around them is the whole point, and rate it as a match for systems from entry level to high end.
