This is the top of Kripton's HR power cable range, and everything about it is engineering first.
The conductor: PC-Triple C continuous crystal copperMost copper is full of microscopic gaps at the crystal boundaries. PC-Triple C fixes this at the forging stage. The copper is struck tens of thousands of times at a fixed angle and direction under light pressure, a process called fixed angle continuous transfer forging. This aligns the crystal structure and grain boundaries in the direction of signal flow and closes the voids that impede current. The forged copper is then drawn into fine wire and annealed at precisely controlled temperature and time for each conductor gauge, fusing the crystals into a continuous structure. The result is copper with a low distortion rate, high conductivity, and stable electrical characteristics. That is why PC-Triple C is the conductor of choice for Japan's most respected power cable manufacturers.
5.5sq, straight core constructionThis model replaces the PC-HR1000M with one clear engineering change: conductor cross section increased from 5.0sq to 5.5sq, and the internal cores changed from twisted strands to straight runs. Cross sectional area is the single most measurable factor in a power cable's performance, and Kripton increased it specifically to improve current delivery and low frequency control. The 68/0.32A conductor arrangement gives you 5.5sq of PC-Triple C per core.
The Silky structure: triple vibration dampingCurrent flowing through any conductor generates micro vibration. Kripton's answer is three layers of damping working together:
- Natural silk thread interposed between the cores. Silk combines flexibility and elasticity, and it resists static charge because of its moisture absorption properties. Its natural elasticity absorbs the micro vibration generated by current flow.
- Insulation made from flame resistant polyolefin infused with a damping agent.
- An outer sheath of flame resistant polyethylene, also with a damping agent.
This is what Kripton calls the Silky structure, pairing the rigidity of PC-Triple C with the softness of silk. It is the same philosophy behind their legendary speaker cabinets.
Shielding and finishA single sided copper tape shield wraps the three core twisted assembly, and the whole cable is finished in a black monofilament braided sleeve. Outer diameter is 14mm. Despite the thickness, owners consistently note how flexible it remains in use.
