The conductor: forty two strands of PC-Triple C Each leg is six bundles of seven 0.33mm PC-Triple C strands, rope twisted around a 1.0mm polyethylene centre core. That is forty two strands per conductor, approximately 3.6sq of copper per leg, or roughly 12.5 AWG. PC-Triple C is forged copper. The copper is struck tens of thousands of times at a fixed angle and direction under light pressure, aligning the crystal structure in the direction of signal flow and closing the microscopic voids that impede conduction. The wire is then drawn and annealed at precisely controlled temperature and time for the gauge, fusing the crystals into a continuous structure. Low distortion, high conductivity, stable electrical characteristics.
Silk damping Bass frequencies mean high current, and high current means vibration. Between the red and black conductors Kripton interposes natural silk thread, held in place with a paper tape wrap. Silk combines flexibility with natural elasticity and resists static charge through its moisture absorption properties. It absorbs the micro vibration the current generates before that vibration can modulate the signal. This is the same Silky philosophy as Kripton's HR power cables and their legendary speaker cabinets.
Deliberately unshielded No shield, no mesh, 9.8mm finished diameter in a dark blue heat resistant polyolefin sheath. Kripton keeps shielding away from speaker level signals entirely. The performance comes from conductor quality, cross sectional area and mechanical damping, not from wrapping the cable in a barrier.
Where it fits Kripton designed the 1500 as the mid and bass leg of a bi-wire system, paired with the SC-HR1300 on the tweeter terminals. This is exactly how Kripton wires their own KX series speakers. As a single full range cable, the 3.6sq gauge gives it the current delivery for floorstanders and less efficient designs where the lighter 1300 would run out of breath.
