The Furutech FP-3TS762 is a bulk power cable sold by the reel for building serious mains leads: three 10AWG conductors of Furutech's alpha treated mu-OFC copper, a braided shield, and a 20A capability that covers any domestic amplifier with room to spare. What is inside the FP-3TS762
Cut one open and the build reads more like industrial instrumentation than hi-fi jewellery. Each of the three cores carries 4.93 square millimetres of conductor, built from 245 fine strands of mu-OFC copper that have been through Furutech's alpha process: a deep cryogenic treatment followed by a controlled demagnetising step that the company applies across its connector and cable range. The cores are individually sleeved in polyethylene, twisted together with fillers, wrapped in a flexible PVC inner sheath, then screened with a braided shield of alpha treated copper wire. The outer jacket is a dark purple flexible PVC, bringing the finished cable to 15.5 millimetres across, so plan your cable dressing before you order rather than after.
The electrical figures are the quiet part of the spec sheet that matter most. Maximum conductor resistance is 2.4 ohms per kilometre, minimum insulation resistance 2,500 megohm kilometres, and the insulation is tested to 3,000 volts AC for a minute. Furutech's own listening notes describe the cable as punchy and tight in the bass with strong transient response, which matches what a heavy, well shielded 10AWG conductor does on a current hungry amplifier: the supply stops sagging at dynamic peaks, and the amplifier sounds like it is working less hard.
Who the FP-3TS762 suits
This is not the wire for a first upgrade. It suits three buyers. The DIY builder who wants a reference grade lead and has the patience to dress a stiff 15.5mm cable behind a rack. The owner of a big power amplifier or conditioner whose stock lead is visibly the weak link, where 10AWG of shielded copper is a genuine electrical improvement. And the system builder rewiring a whole rack, because a bulk design lets every lead in the system share one wire and differ only in length and connector. The custom build angle
Bulk wire only becomes a cable when someone terminates it properly, and that is the part we do. Tell us the length you need and the inlet on your component, C13, C15 or C19, and we build the FP-3TS762 to that spec: a quality Australian AS/NZS 3112 plug at the wall, a Furutech or Oyaide rhodium plated IEC body at the component, real strain relief, and a bench test before it leaves.
