Since 1992, S/A LAB has produced its cables entirely in Japan — drawing the wire in-house and changing neither materials nor process since. The HIGH END HOSE S follows the family philosophy of “add nothing, subtract nothing”: a long-time refined high-purity OFC conductor, wound in a reverse-concentric multi-layer structure where each layer is counter-wound against the last for a dense, mechanically stable bundle, then direct-coated in fluororesin for a dynamic, wide-range presentation. A composite filler of Kevlar and polyethylene fibres is wound geometrically through the cable to pressurise and damp the structure against vibration. The result is the trademark S/A LAB sound: extremely straight, uncoloured and high in resolution, with quick, well-defined low frequencies and a transparent top end. The most compact member of the HIGH END HOSE family — easier to dress and route where the larger hoses won’t fit.
Key specs (from S/A LAB)
- Conductor: high-purity OFC (long-time refined oxygen-free copper)
- Stranding: reverse-concentric multi-layer winding
- Insulation: fluororesin, direct-coated on the conductor
- Damping: Kevlar + polyethylene fibre composite filler
- Origin: made in Japan, in-house from wire drawing
Pairs well with the Kripton SC-HR1500 and the Tiglon SP-Zero.
